Scholarships
What makes the Gather-NOW programs unique is that consecrated funds remove the financial barriers for individuals who are serious about their desires to serve and who want to learn and prepare in the very best ways possible. Our Gather-NOW Team believe strongly that these focused on-site scriptural programs are an irreplaceable means of reinforcing and cementing Gospel understanding, application, and personal conversion.
Gather-NOW is teaming up with Deepen Your Learning an exclusively educational and charitable organization providing opportunities for scholars to broaden their education beyond what they receive in school. Their purpose is to identify youth with the heart of a scholar, a desire to deepen their education, and a drive to give back to their community and give them the opportunity to further their education in a profound way.
Our support of scholars will be through scholarships providing for and facilitating the opportunities for educational travel. Applicants will be selected based on their passion for their education, leadership ability, financial need, and their drive for wanting to serve their community or another part of the world.
Award candidates are asked to show their commitment to making their community and the world a better place by creating and implementing a service project in their area. Applicants will present their service project as part of their scholarship application. Scholars applying for educational tours must study and prepare for the tour as well as participate in online classes/meetings.
How it works
Fill Out Electronic Application Form
Complete the online application. Applicants will provide general contact information, educational goal with details, answers to various essay questions, financial information (including copy of most recent tax form, names and phone numbers of three people for letters of recommendation, service project plans, and electronic signature.
Plan and Complete Service Project
Applicant will research and plan a service project. This project is similar to an Eagle Scout Service Project. Project length and level of difficulty will determine level of scholarship provided. Once service projects are approved (through application process), scholar will render service and then submit a service report with accompanying pictures.
Submit Three Letters of Recommendation
Select three people, list their names and phone numbers on the application form, then have each person send a letter of recommendation directly to Deepen Your Learning at deepenyourlearningnonprofit@gmail.com.
Considerations for letter writer:
- Why do you think the applicant should be considered?
- What impact do you hope this experience will have on them?
- What do you hope they will be able to do as a result of this experience?
Complete Extra Agreements
Applicants communicate and respond to communications in a timely manner.
Educational tour scholarship recipients are required to attend all classes & meetings, complete pre-tour academic packets and any other specific tour requirements.
Program Scholarship Tiers
*NOTE: Scholarships will be for the specific services outlined below in Tier 1, 2, and 3. They will NOT include personal spending stipends. Participants will be responsible for personal souvenirs, lunches, snacks, and other things of a personal nature on the trip.
Tier 1
The Participant's international flights are paid for by Deepen Your Learning.
[Note: International flights include round-trip airfare from the participants nearest large airport-hub to the destination.]
Tier 2
The Participant's in-country expenses are paid for by Deepen Your Learning.
[Note: lunches and personal souvenirs throughout the trip will be the scholar’s responsibility as well as the International flights to and from the destination.]
Tier 3
The Participant's international flights AND in-country expenses will be paid for by Deepen Your Learning.
